The VAT invoice template

An invoice with the tax shown properly, from a tax label and rate you set. A mixed-rate document can carry a rate on every line, with one totals row per rate so the figures can be checked.

3 · The client

4 · What you are charging for

5 · Discount and tax

The label and the rate are yours to set: VAT, GST, sales tax or none at all. Turn on a rate per line for a mixed-rate document, and the totals will show one row per rate. If you need to look a rate up, the VAT calculator carries the 2026 rates for six countries.

6 · Notes and payment details

The draft is kept in this browser so it survives a reload. Save it as a file to keep it or to move it to another device.

Saved documents

Documents you save are kept in this browser and nowhere else. They are never uploaded, and clearing your browser data removes them, so keep anything important as a file too.

Design

The design is saved with the draft, so a document reopens looking exactly as you sent it. The preview is the page that prints: what you see is the paper.

How to make a VAT invoice template

  1. Fill in your details and the client's, then set the tax label and rate, or turn on a rate per line for a mixed-rate document.
  2. Add the client, the lines and anything else the document needs. It takes shape on the right as you type.
  3. Choose a template and an accent colour, then print it to PDF straight from your browser.

Frequently asked questions

Is it really free?

Yes. There is no watermark, no sign-up, no trial and no limit on how many you make. The site is paid for by ads.

How do I get a PDF?

Your browser makes it. Click the print button and choose Save as PDF as the destination. That is why the result is vector sharp and why nothing has to be uploaded to produce it.

Can I change how it looks?

Yes. Eight templates, any accent colour, four font pairings and A4 or US Letter. The design is saved with the draft, so every document you send looks the same.

Where is my document kept?

In this browser, and nowhere else. Save it as a file to keep a copy or to move it to another device.

Is anything uploaded?

Every figure is worked out in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, there is no sign-up, and no result is stored anywhere but on your own device.
