The design is saved with the draft, so a document reopens looking exactly as you sent it. The preview is the page that prints: what you see is the paper.
How to make an invoice online
- Fill in your details and the client's, then add a line for each item or hour you are charging for.
- Set a discount and a tax rate if you need them, and add your payment details.
- Click Print / save as PDF and pick Save as PDF in the print dialog.
Frequently asked questions
Is the invoice watermarked or limited?
No. The document is yours, with no watermark, no logo of ours and no limit on how many you make.
Can I use it for quotes and estimates?
Yes. Switch the document type to Quote and the heading, the numbering prefix and the date label change with it.
Can I change how the invoice looks?
Yes. Pick one of eight templates, set the accent color to your brand's, choose a font pairing and print on A4 or US Letter. The preview is the page itself, and the design is saved with the draft, so every document you send looks the same.
Where is my draft kept?
In this browser's local storage, so it is still there when you come back. Use Save the draft to keep a copy as a JSON file, and Load a draft to bring it back or move it to another device.
Is the invoice legally valid?
The layout carries what most countries expect: who is invoicing whom, a number, dates, the items, the tax line and the total. What your country requires beyond that (tax IDs, wording, numbering rules) is your responsibility; FinKit gives no tax or legal advice.
Can I add several tax rates?
Not yet: the document has one tax line, with a label and a rate you choose. Per-line rates are on the list for a future version.
