Frequently asked questions
Is overpaying a mortgage worth it?
It depends on the rate and on what else you could do with the money, but the arithmetic is stark: an overpayment goes straight at the balance, so it saves you every future month of interest on that amount. The result shows exactly how much and how many payments earlier you would finish. Check your lender's limit on penalty-free overpayments first.
How exact is it?
The arithmetic is exact and rounded the way money is, at the cent. What it cannot know is anything specific to you, so read it as the ordinary case rather than as advice.
Is anything uploaded?
Every figure is worked out in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, there is no sign-up, and no result is stored anywhere but on your own device.
