How to use the Overdue invoice calculator

  1. Type the amount of the invoice, the date it was due and the date it was paid, or leave today in that field if it is still unpaid.

Frequently asked questions

What interest can I charge on a late invoice?

Whatever your contract says, and where it says nothing, whatever your country sets as the statutory rate for commercial debt. In the United Kingdom and across the European Union that is a fixed margin above a reference rate set by the central bank, and it is usually somewhere near 8 to 12 percent a year. Type the rate that applies to you; this tool ships no statutory rate of its own, because the right one depends on the contract and the country.

How exact is it?

The arithmetic is exact and rounded the way money is, at the cent. What it cannot know is anything specific to you, so read it as the ordinary case rather than as advice.

Is anything uploaded?

Every figure is worked out in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, there is no sign-up, and no result is stored anywhere but on your own device.
